Karolina Drobotowicz is a doctoral researcher in the Critical AI and Crisis Narratives (CRAI–CIS) research group at Aalto University. She has conducted research in Human–Computer Interaction (HCI), software engineering and ethical AI. Her dissertation focuses on trustworthy AI services in the Public Sector, therein social–oriented transparency of AI and civic participation in public AI service design. In 2021, she was one of the organizers of the Feminist Futures Hackathon. She is also active in the women in tech movements, in 2018 she co–founded Women for Women Workshops in Helsinki and in 2019 she was part of Women@EIT (European Institute of Innovation and Technology) board.
